Specialized Out-of-School Care
For many parents and guardians of children with disabilities, finding safe and accessible out of school time (OST) activities can be a difficult and frustrating process. Research by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has concluded that high-quality OST programs promote positive child development and supports in-school learning. CFEC believes that all children, particularly those with special needs, should be in a safe, healthy and engaging learning environments during the summer and after the formal school day.
Our inclusive program provides fun developmental, educational and social opportunities to children birth to five years old, who attend The Children’s Center and Special Children’s School during the school day.

Summer Programs
Our summer STEAM program operates from 7:30 am – 5:30 pm and is open to students at The Children’s Center and The Special Children’s School. Siblings of enrolled students are also welcome to attend through kindergarten. Each week features a different subject matter to engage the creative side of our students. The program culminates in a “Gallery Hop” to showcase our artistic achievements in August.
