Exceptional Children

Addressing critical needs early in life

In conjunction with the Children’s Developmental Services Agency (CDSA), a regional early intervention center for infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities or delays, The CFEC’s Infant/Toddler Program addresses the educational, medical, and therapeutic needs of children ages birth through two years. As the child approaches three years of age, the CDSA begins the process of transitioning the child to an appropriate preschool setting.

The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Exceptional Children’s Division provides specially designed instruction to children with a broad spectrum of abilities and disabilities, striving to promote their cognitive, physical, social/emotional, and vocational development. Preschool and elementary age children are assigned to our schools based on their educational, medical, and therapeutic needs.
