The end of the year is often a time of festive celebration at The Centers for Exceptional Children (CFEC), and 2017 has proven to be an eventful one for our children and families. We were pleased to welcome our friends from Belk to The Children’s Center (and Belkie Bear, too), where we shared in holiday song and cheer during our annual holiday program sponsored by the Winston-Salem Association of REALTORS. Students and staff enjoyed our annual Christmas party with our neighbors from Graylyn Conference Center. The Special Children’s School hosted family and friends for a joyful holiday sing-a-long. On December 17, Santa made an early surprise night-time delivery of stockings for students. The children each received a special holiday Teddy bear, and they participated in a “Christmas Around the World” craft activity. The Family Support Network hosted it’s annual Breakfast with Santa, with the kitchen and cooking team from the Knights of Columbus, along with a host of other volunteers. A special thank you is due to all of the thoughtful volunteers who have been so helpful to all of our programs throughout the year, and of course, our incredibly hard working staff! “We are helping our children and families unfold possibilities,” shared Nancy Griffith, Executive Director of The CFEC. “I am really proud that we are able to provide programs to help our amazing children and their families thrive.” HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
